Klitschko vs Mormeck Livestream

This Saturday in Düsseldorf, in front of more than 50,000 spectators, Jean-Marc Mormeck will pit himself against the immense Wladimir Klitschko, aiming to take possession of the four world heavyweight belts (WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO) held by the Ukrainian. This is the challenge of a lifetime for the French boxer, who has regained his punching ability during the last two years and who fully intends to put an end to the reign of the younger Klitschko brother, unbeaten since 2004!

His defeat in the 7th round against the Englishman David Haye in November 2007 seemed to mark the end of a great career for Mormeck, multiple WBA (2002, 2006, 2007) and WBC (2005, 2006, 2007) cruiserweight world champion. But in 2009, at the age of 37, the man from Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, set himself one final challenge: moving up to the heavyweight division to exact his revenge on Haye. If his dream of getting back into the ring with the Englishman does not ultimately come true, Mormeck has earned the right, through his victories over Vinny Maddalone, Fres Oquendo and Timur Ibragimov, to take on the undisputed master of the division, Wladimir Klitschko.

Wladimir Klitschko withdraws from the fight against France's Jean-Marc Mormeck

Wladimir Klitschko withdraws from the fight against France's Jean-Marc Mormeck this weekend after two operations in two days to remove a kidney stone.

The 39-year-old Mormeck is a former WBC and WBA unified cruiserweight champion has won all his fights since moving to the heavyweight division in 2009. He has a career record of 36 wins (22 KOs) and four defeats.

Saturday's fight was supposed to be Klitschko's 20th title bout and his first appearance since beating Britain's David Haye in July. His record is 56-3 with 49 KOs.

The Fight has been rescheduled for March 3 in Dusseldorf.

Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.
December 10, 2011.
Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO's)
VS.
Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KO's)

Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO's) will be fighting his hand-picked opponent 39-year-old Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KO's) in a fight at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Wladimir, 35, is saying this is the best opponent he could find out of the top 20 list of contenders. After handing David Haye a decisive loss in July, Wladimir Klitschko is moving on to meet Jean Marc Mormeck in a Dusseldorf ring, in many ways, the fight highlights the problems facing Dr. Steelhammer in the future, because while Mormeck is a good fighter, it is hard to describe him as a credible heavyweight contender. Mormeck is a prime example of the boxing traditions of France. In crusierweight terms, he is a strong boxer-puncher with solid chin, good skills and ring smarts.

Klitschko's second reign as heavyweight champ began more than five years ago, and during that time he has risen to become the all-but undisputed champion. Only his older brother Vitali holds a fragment of the crown, and while many think of Vitali as being the stronger fighter, Wladimir is the busier and more accomplished boxer.

Wladimir Klitschko vs. Jean Marc-Mormeck

Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KOs), and Jean-Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KOs), participated today in a press conference at the “Intercontinental Hotel Düsseldorf” and talked about their upcoming clash next Saturday. WBA/WBO Superchampion, IBO/IBF World Heavyweight and “The Ring” Champion Klitschko and his contender Mormeck will face off at the ESPRIT arena in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Wladimir Klitschko: “Jean-Marc Mormeck has a major goal: To became the first World Heavyweight Champion from France. He is very experienced and also has had a lot of title fights in his career. His size makes it even more difficult for me to hit him. I will do anything to make sure to keep the belts that I have been unifying in the last years.”

Jean-Marc Mormeck: ”I have an iron will and will break Wladimir Klitschko mentally. I am not afraid of anybody and I am sure that I will beat Klitschko and take his belts.”

The fight will be broadcast live and exclusively on RTL in Germany, in the US it will be shown on EPIX. Remaining tickets for Klitschko vs. Mormeck are available on www.eventim.de.

The announcement, rumored for some time, was not a surprise. Wladimir will be making the 11th defense of his 2nd title reign against the 39 year old Mormeck. The match against Mormeck will be the 20th world heavyweight title fight that Klitscko has been involved in. Overall he is 17-2 in title fights.

Perhaps realizing his match with Jean-Marc would be a difficult fight to sell, Wladimir immediately began to hype Mormeck’s talent. He was quoted by the Associated Press as saying:

“I know that I am the favorite in all of my fights but I also know that each opponent is motivated to be in the best shape ever when he fights me. Mormeck is one of the most experienced fighters I have ever faced. He has had many world title fights, has a very good technique, can take a lot of punches and is very intelligent inside the ring. To underestimate him would be a fatal mistake.”

Mormeck realizes that he will be a huge underdog and stated:

“I can imagine what the odds will look like for me against Wladimir Klitschko, but I know my skills.”
Mormeck was KO’d by David Haye in 2007 in the 7th round after knocking Haye down in the 4th round. Mormeck took two years off after the loss to Haye and returned as a heavyweight, where he has won three fights against 2nd tier opposition.

Jean-Marc conceded that he would have thought long and hard before agreeing to fight Vitali Klitscko, but feels that he has a good chance against Wladmir who he accused of having a “glass chin”.

The Mormeck fight will be Wladimir’s first match since his one sided victory over David Haye on July 2nd. The Haye bout was heavily hyped and many gave the “Hayemaker” a good shot at carrying the championship back to England.

Whatever the reasoning was for Wladimir to choose such a soft opponent as Mormeck is not clear. Many boxing fans around the world were for the first time starting to show him the respect he has sought for so long. To be quite blunt Mormeck does not belong in the same ring with Wladimir. He has neither the credentials nor the size to legitimately compete with Wladimir Klitschko.

Unwittingly or not “Dr. Steelhammer” has placed himself in the position no fighter should ever be in. For Klitschko at the age of 35, a victory over Mormeck does nothing to secure or advance his legacy.

Klitschko vs. Mormeck Live Stream - WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Just so we’ve got everything in order, the titles that will be at stake are: the WBA Super World heavyweight title, the IBF and WBO heavyweight titles, and the IBO (International Boxing Organization) championship. Of course, all that hardware means more to the fighters than it does to anyone else.

Mormeck is 36-4 with 22 KO’s and has “established” himself as a heavyweight with fights against Fres Oquendo and Timur Ibragimov. Those fights were very carefully placed in “friendly” territory. The Ibragimov fight in particular may have been a bit of a robbery; Mormeck won a split decision, in a place (France) where an opponent coming from overseas (Ibragimov is from Uzbekistan, but lives in Florida) is behind the eight-ball from the beginning and has to basically knock someone out with a two-by-four to win a fight.

Another thing – Mormeck was knocked out by Haye (in a cruiserweight title fight), which kind of takes away any of the suspense that might possibly exist in this upcoming matchup, even for those members of the media who would like nothing better than to shill for it.Mormeck acknowledged his underdog status. “I can imagine what the odds will look like for me against Wladimir Klitschko, but I know my skills.”
The fight will be the first for the 35-year-old Klitschko (56-3, 49 KOs) since a landslide decision victory against titlist David Haye in their heavily hyped July 2 bout in Hamburg, Germany.

In 2007, Haye, also a former cruiserweight champion, went to Mormeck’s native France, survived a fourth-round knockdown and rallied to knock him out in the seventh round to win the cruiserweight title.

After the loss, Mormeck (36-4, 22 KOs) took nearly two years off before returning as a heavyweight. He has won each of his three heavyweight bouts against second-tier opposition: Vinny Maddalone, Fres Oquendo and Timur Ibragimov.

The silly part of this whole thing is that anybody was even talking about Klitschko having a rematch with Haye, who dodged contact and pissed away his opportunity to really vault himself into the big time when he fought Klitschko on July 2.
Maybe his worthiness (or lack of same) provides a proper perspective for this encounter.

At the same time, Klitschko has done his best to sell the fight by saying that to seriously underestimate his foe could be “a fatal mistake.”
IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO’s) looks for his 50th knockout on March 3rd against one of his weakest opponents in many, many years in facing 39-year-old former cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KO’s) at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Wladimir Klitschko is to defend his WBO heavyweightchampionship title against Jean Marc Mormeck on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at ESPRIT Arena, Düsseldorf, Germany. The undisputed King of the ring in the heavyweight division is all set for thechallenge by French man Mormeck.

He current is the titleholder of the WBA International Heavyweight Championship and has an incredible win record of 36 with 22 of them coming as KOs and just 4 losses. Actually two of them he lost in the very beginning of his career when his experience was almost zero as a fighter. It was ten years back in 2002 that Mormeck became WBA World Champion in the Cruiserweight division. He has defended the title for three times later on and could have his WBC and WBA titles unified after winning against Wayne Braithwaite. He lost though against O’ Neil Bell but won later in a rematch.
I am actually a fan of veteran Klitschko and eager to watch his comeback after unification of title against David Haye last year. The Olympian medallist is shy of 1 KO to make his KO wins to 50 from his 60 fights (includes the upcoming fight) with losing about only 3 times. In fact, am all eyes to watch Wladimir Klitschko’s twentieth World Championship fight. He sure goes into the fight as a favorite and he was quoted saying, “Mormeck is one of the most experienced fighters I have ever faced. He has had many world title fights, has a very good technique, can take a lot of punches and is very intelligent inside the ring. To underestimate him would be a fatal mistake.”

With that being said he would come with his best armory and it will be an electrifying fight by all means. Wladimir Klitschko vs Jean-Marc Mormeck Live Stream Online will be placed below.

Wladimir Klitschko vs Jean Marc Mormeck. This is an absurd mismatch of the worst kind, and Klitschko trying to sell this pathetic crap just seems unusually dishonest even for boxing, especially since the Klitschko legend of gentlemanly conduct and dignity is so heavily forced down our throats too often. There's nothing sporting about this matchup. Mormeck is old, way too small, and and hasn't had a good win in five years, since he beat O'Neil Bell. But obviously we're going to cover it anyway. Epix and EpixHD.com will have the fight again in the U.S., and last week I had great luck with their free stream on the web site. I've been fair when their streams routinely did not work for too many people, but last week went better, and I think they learned some lessons from the Klitschko vs Chisora fight the week before, where it was so bad they had to admit having problems for the first time ever. So in the interest of fairness, this week I can truly recommend giving EpixHD.com a shot again. We all want it to work, because it's more boxing on U.S. TV (or at least internet). If this fight takes longer than a handful of rounds, Klitschko is carrying it.
Wladimir Klitschko expects a Mike Tyson-like challenge from Jean-Marc Mormeck but says no amount of planning will help the Frenchman when the two get into the ring.
Ukrainian Klitschko, who holds the WBO, IBF, IBO and WBA heavyweight belts, will look to clinch his 50th knockout from 60 professional bouts when he takes on the former cruiserweight world champion on December 10 at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Wladimir recently beat WBA heavyweight champion David Haye by a one-sided 12 round decision last July in one of Wladimir's easier bouts. Haye, despite talking constant trash while hyping the fight, wanted no part of Wladimir on the night of the fight. It ended up being a very boring fight to watch because Haye didn't come to win; he came to survive. Mormeck will have to fight in a similar way if he wants to finish on his feet.
